my evaluation

The magazine that i have created uses the conventions of other magazines like vibe. my magazine has the same colour scheme as the magazine named above because i wanted my magazine to look like a pop and R&B magazine. furthermore i wanted to make a pop and R&B magazine so therefore i researched on pop and R&B magazines and got a lot of ideas form them. and then used the ideas to make my magazine. i used one of the magazines called vibe to help me with my colour scheme which was black and white with black and red writing, so it could stand out. i also used these colours because they are quite strait forward colours and many pop and R&B magazines use these kind of colours.
The images that i took for my magazine also use the conventions of real magazines. as real magazines use pictures of artists, i also took pictures of people who were supposed to be artists. in my pictures the people are posing in front of the camera as there is more to the artist which was one of the points to my magazine. this relates to other magazines because they also have images of artists who pose in front of the camera the way people are posing in my magazine. in my research i found out that some magazines have the artists in black and white so therefore i have done the same thing to my artists.
When taking my pictures i deliberately got the people to where props and the cloths they are wearing to match the pop and R&B style, which are normal cloths that real pop and R&B artists wear, for example, jeans and a top with also bracelets. This clothing makes my magazine look more like a pop and R&B magazine. the poses that i made the people do was also deliberate as the magazines that i researched on, the people were often posing at the camera, looking straight at it.
the layout of the contents page and the double page spread are a Little similar but not much, they only similar thing is on my contents page, the layout of the writing is similar but my image layouts are different. copying, the other actual magazines and all the elements, makes my magazine look realistic and authentic. on the other hand my front cover is very similar to the other magazines that i have researched upon. the vibe magazine front cover uses the layout that i used and also, colour scheme, so now my magazine would look more realistic and authentic. the picture layout is also very similar because it meats my aims. my aim was to make my image the main focus of my magazine. so therefore my magazine does meet and fit the conventions of a real magazine.
furthermore i wanted to aim my magazines at a teenage audience probably going into the early twenties, it is also aimed at people who listen to pop and R&B music. the magazine that i made also represents this social group because my magazine has pictures of people wearing the same cloths and with similar issues. the images help build up a understanding about the subject and it catches the teenagers eye more to the image and then the title, which stands out because of the red colour. the font size and colour also represents this group because it is very straight forward, whereas if my font was all italic, it would not be a pop and R&B magazine font style. the colours also represent pop and R&B so therefore the audience would read the magazine because they would also like the colours.
Pro circ will sell and publish my magazine as they have one that to vibe magazine, they will be the perfect publishers for my magazine because they have published the pop and R&B magazine that i have done my research on. i have been making a pop and R&B magazine and i would want to use a magazine publisher that has also published other pop and R&B magazines, this because they have already published another pop and R&B magazine and made it a success. so therefore i would want my magazine to be published, by a very well known and very successful publisher.
in my magazine i have used a lot of images because my audience research told me that they would prefer it that way, the images draw the audience towards them; this is a similar way in which the readers can understand and know what the magazine is about. i used pictures of famous singers and music artists so therefore people would read it more because they also light famous people. the target audience are teenagers and they would be interested in my magazine and they would buy it because they would be interested in this type of music.
while making my magazine i have learnt how to change a picture and make it colourless, i have also learnt how to lay out and make a magazine. i also know how to make a image look realistic and authentic.
from the preliminary task i have learnt how to use texts and images properly on the page because i most likely tend to ruin the page by adding too much images and too much writing.
if i used the wrong colours or too much colours my magazine would not look like a pop and R&B magazine and also it may not look like the magazine that my target audience may like to read.
furthermore making text stand out from one another is also very important because if it doesn't then the readers will not be able to understand any that is on the page or what the magazine is about from the out side and inside.
in my preliminary task i used a lot of images and a lot of text that was not linked and did not make sense, so therefore i had to change it. and after i did changed it, it looked much better and also looked more realistic and authentic.

i am going to evaluate my double page spread draft and i am going to explain why i have layed out the double page spread the way it is.

the first page of my double page spread is the one on the right hand side and i chose to do it this way because there are alot of magazines double page spreads that are layed out like this with the whole picture layed out on the whole page and writing over it.

my picture has been layed out like this so it shows that what is written on the page is about the picture and so there for the magazine audience would know strait away what this is going to be about. and also i have layed out the picture like this because when i did my audience questionnaires, the majority of the audience what the picture lay outs to be like this.

furthermore on my draft i for gto to include the title but the title would be bald so that the audience can see what this page of the magazine would be about.

moving on, for my writing i have written it as a interveiw because when i did my questionnaires the majority of the audience wanted to read interviews rather than fact files on the thing.

my second page of the double page spread is going to have the lay out like the one above. i wanted to write about the X factor, the finalists and so therefore i wanted three big images of the finalists right on top of the page so that when the audience look at the that page the first thing they would see is the three finalists so therefore, the audience would know what this page is about. then i want a picture of evry one to gether so paople would understand what i am writing about even more.

furthermore i dont really want much writing on this page because i want this page to be like those magazine pages that have no writing on but have a overview of what is going to be on the next page. lastly the colour sceme of this page would be the colour sceme of the X factor that is red and black.
